[edit]Hey @Drmies! While you may think these images were "judiciously" removed. You provided no clear rationale besides your personal feeling that there were "too many" and it was "sports heavy". Any guidelines or policies would help make your case as we seek consensus. glman (talk) 18:47, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
- glman, hey, thanks for the note--of the 17, 9 were sports-related. That seems excessive to me. I mean, Arian Foster was a great running back, but was he that great that, out of all those hundreds of TN alumni, he should be represented here? Where are the US presidents and the Supreme Court judges? Conversely, you're also not giving a rationale for restoring a status quo that had no rationale for it either, so it kind of cuts both ways. But it's often that way with these galleries: people put in their favorites, and that also means that the selection is heavily skewed towards today, towards the last three decades or so. I will say that, unlike in the general population of the campus (which I remember well, since I taught there for a cuple of years), African Americans are not underrepresented in the gallery, so that's good news. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 20:17, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
