Proposed transit is outdated

[edit]

Currently a student at SU; noticed that the proposed transit subheading is severely out of date, not to mention that these plans have apparently gone nowhere. No such monorail or aerial ropeway exists in Syracuse, though I would be 100% in full support of both of the mentioned projects. I bring this up because the proposals occurred in or around 2005 according to the page, at a time when Destiny USA had not been built (see "Proposed Destiny USA"). Destiny USA is now of course built, standing as the 6th largest shopping mall in the United States. I don't want to remove anything because I am not an expert on this topic. Thanks, Generator.edu (talk) 22:08, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removed monorail section today. Poor citations, no such project was ever built so it was not relevant to the article. I am mostly sure that the section about the proposed aerial tram is a practical joke, as its only citation simply links to the wikipedia page for the Post Standard, a Syracuse newspaper. New City Website

[edit]

Should we use the old city website or the new one? The new site, syr.gov is still under construction but has more updated content.

A discussion on whether Syracuse should be disambiguated is taking place here: Talk:Syracuse#Requested move 10 February 2025 SportingFlyer T·C 00:36, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Correction: the linked discussion doesn't affect this page; it's a proposal to move the disambiguation page "Syracuse" to "Syracuse (disambiguation)" and deem the original Syracuse in Sicily the primary topic. This article would remain at "Syracuse, New York" irrespective of the result of that discussion, so it's not clear what the purpose of notifying people here is.
